We're On the Road Again!


Another Road Trip!

The St. Joseph Cathedral Parish Development Committee has another fun bus trip planned for Saturday, August 19 – down to New Orleans to the National World War II Museum!

More information about the National World War II Museum can be had from their excellent website, http://www.nationalww2museum.org . Highlights of the Museum include:

¨ the newest permanent exhibit, "The Arsenal of Democracy: The Herman and George Brown Salute to the Home Front"

- recently added "Campaigns of Courage" exhibits: "The Road to Berlin" and "The Road to Tokyo"

- tanks, trucks, artillery pieces and airplanes

- personal artifacts from soldiers, sailors, air crews, marines, air crews and "the folks back home" who fought and won the war

- and of course the famous 4-D movie experience "Beyond All Boundaries."

After coffee and doughnuts at 7:30 am in our Parish Hall we’ll leave at 8 am. At the end of the Museum visit we will attend the vigil Mass at and briefly tour Holy Name of Jesus Church, right on St. Charles Avenue next to the Loyola University campus and across the street from Audubon Park.We will get back to Baton Rouge at approximately 6:30 pm.

The $60 per person cost includes transportation, lunch, touring fees, and snacks. A cash bar will be available at lunch. Pay by check or cash in advance to our Parish Office. Reservations with payment must be made by Monday, August 14. The bus capacity is 50 people, so reserve your spot as soon as possible!
