The great penitential Season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday (February 26 this year). Sinners will be marked with ashes at all Masses at the Cathedral that day: at 7:30 am, 12 noon, and 5 pm.

Remember, too, that it is a day of both fasting and abstinence. To fast means to eat less (no more than one full meal). To abstain from meat means to eat no beef, pork or chicken.
